About the Artist
I use coloured pencils to create highly detailed drawings of a wide range of pets, livestock and wildlife.
I am completely self-taught, having always loved art as a child and quite often being found with a paintbrush or a felt tip in my hand. My little business was born one rainy Sunday afternoon when I was 18, and I decided to copy an old photograph of a dairy cow once belonging to my Mum. A friend asked to buy the piece and then commissioned a portrait of one of his own cows, and that was where Lydia Bailey Artwork started. Since then, I have been taking on commissioned work as well as creating original pieces of my own which are available to buy as limited edition prints.
As well as drawing, I have farming in my roots and am passionate about our countryside and British agriculture. I work part-time on different farms throughout the year aswell as running a flock of sheep with my partner. This provides me with plenty of inspiration for my artwork and allows me to combine my two favourite things.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions about my work.
